The Production process for PVC EVOH PE Film

 

Co - extrusion: The PVC, EVOH, and PE materials are fed into separate extruders. Each extruder has a heated barrel and a screw that rotates to transport and melt the material. The temperature settings in the extruder barrels are carefully controlled. For PVC, the temperature usually ranges from 160 - 190°C, depending on the specific formulation. For EVOH, the temperature is typically around 180 - 220°C, and for PE, it's around 180 - 200°C.

The molten materials from the three extruders are then combined through a special die. The die has a specific shape that allows the different layers to be formed in the desired configuration. 

Cooling and Calendering (if applicable)

After extrusion, the hot composite film needs to be cooled. This can be done using a series of cooling rollers. The rollers are usually water - cooled and help to solidify the film quickly. The temperature of the cooling rollers is adjusted to achieve the desired film properties. If calendering is used, the film is passed through a set of rollers that apply pressure to the film to further refine its thickness and surface smoothness. Calendering can also improve the mechanical properties of the film by aligning the polymer molecules.

Winding and Slitting

The finished composite film is wound onto large rolls. The winding process is carefully controlled to ensure the film is wound evenly and without wrinkles or air pockets. After winding, the large rolls are often slit into smaller rolls of the desired width. This allows the film to be used for different packaging applications depending on the width requirements.
